Candlewood Lake is not only the largest lake in Connecticut, it is one of the largest man-made lakes in the United States of America. With a 60 mile shoreline, Candlewod Lake is where New Yorkers head during summer weekends to go boating, fishing and just relaxing. However, arguably the best time to visit Candlewood Lake is when most of the visitors have gone home and that is in the Fall when the trees take on the most vivid hues imaginable.
